Body Language I
2000, 122 x 62.5 x 40 cm (H x L x W)
Body: Stainless steel 3 mm two sides & hollow inside, round welded, no support, single leg. Shine finished.
The initial idea came from the imagination of the curves of a human body in a certain position. The design is not that of a chair that invites us to immediately have a seat and feel comfortable, but that challenges us to feel and learn about the reaction of our body, our bones and skin, and to feel the sensation of that particular energy that emerges when our body touches an object with “unusual” curves.
Body Language II
2000, 122 x 62.5 x 46 cm (H x L x W)
Front body: made of 3 mm stainless steel, shine finished.
Side body: made of varnished teak wood, with teak support inside.
Front and side body are screwed together.
More or less, the idea is the same as in “Body Language I”. However, since mixed materials are used (wood and steel), the expression is of course different.
Black & White
1999, 90 x 40 x 40 cm (H x W x D)
Black chair: steel 5 mm, painted rust black, welded without bone support, seat and leg covered with black leather.
White chair: stainless steel 3 mm, shine finished, welded without bone support, seat and leg covered with white leather.
At the beginning, I had in mind to design this chair as an expression of a woman in sitting position, showing a typical femininity and intensive inner beauty. At the same time, however, I was obsessed by the imagination of a strong masculine, even macho character. That's why I chose strong basic materials (iron, stainless steel) combined with the soft leather. Why “Black and White”? Because all our ideas, our entire life always contain the question of black and white, right or wrong, and even good or bad, it depends |
