Pranoto's solo exhibition at the Milenium Gallery, Jalan Fatmawati in Jakarta, opens at 8 pm on June 4th, 2003, and will continue until 30th June, 2003.

The exhibition includes a wide range of Pranoto's interpretation of the model-taken from the Model Sessions that are held in Pranoto's Art Gallery, main road, Ubud, Bali. These sessions are open to all artists and are held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 2-5pm. Models have come from all over the world, including Bali and Pranoto has been very fortunate to have had the privilege to paint such a wonderful group of men and women.

Pranoto has approached the model in many different ways, using many different mediums over the years, but the paintings are united in the way he focuses on theway light falls on the human figure. He has worked in this time with oil painting-on
sandpaper and on canvas, pastel on sandpaper and on pastel paper and the unusual medium of tinted plaster on ceramic-which is a fast drying medium which gives a rich texture.

All of these styles are represented in his show at Milenium Gallery. The effect of seeing this collection of work is to realize again the beauty of the human form and the strong tradition of artists who interpret that beauty.
