Born in 1960, Jakarta. Studied at ISI, Yogyakarta 1980-87 and shadow puppetry with Sukasaman in Jogyakarta. Best Young Painter from Alliance Francaise and ITB, 1989. UNESCO Prize for Int'l Art Biennial, Shanghai, 2000, and many other awards. Known internationally for contemporay installations, often collaborating with traditional artisans and artists.
